Peak State Fit. Where performance and community come together. Building Utah’s first Cycle Cafe.
Peak State Fit was looking to create Utah’s first Cycle Cafe, a coffee shop offering the highest end bicycle service and fitting. Peak State Fit was looking for community, personalized service, and high end performance.
Peak State Fit needed transform a hybrid space into a seamlessly integrated community center combining high-tech bicycle fitting, technical workshop operations, and a warm, inviting specialty coffee bar without compromising functional flow or brand cohesion.

Bridging the Gap Between Technical Precision & Hospitality
Industrial Rustic meets Modern Tech, keeping true to themselves and staying in touch with the environment, we used live-edge slab timber, mixed with exposed brick and reclaimed wood to bring the outdoors, inside. These rustic touches bring warmth to an environment usually known for it’s clean, cold atmosphere. A unified, open concept providing transparency and boasting their excellence, creating a space inviting to rider’s to sip coffee, work, or chat and get to know their bicycle mechanic.
It’s tricky to blend two spaces with opposing demands. By introducing high-durability floors to withstand the abuse of a bike shop and including additional barn wood and raw steel, The transition between spaces is only noticed by changing out the aromas of freshly ground coffee for the bike shop. By including the rustic barn doors, Peak State Fit isn’t hiding the bicycle work most shops tuck away. Instead, their inviting clients to connect.
The third space to tie this project together is the fitting studio. More secluded from the service center and café. This intimate setting allowed the bike fitters to work one-on-one with clients without distractions. To tie in the performance space with the existing spaces, we used more exposed brick. Cyclist can enjoy a world class fit experience, have their bike serviced, and enjoy coffee and friends all in one spot.
Displays and Custom Fixtures
Using modular pegboards and slat systems in the service center, displays bike accessories visible to café patrons waiting for drinks or bicycle service. Additional custom displays provide a partition between the mechanics workspace becoming a living visual backdrop, elevating service into a performance. The addition of the custom displays allowed for additional reclaimed wood to tie in the service space with the café.
